BOX LAX CAMP
by posted 05/18/2012

Spots are still available for the 2012 Box Lacrosse Camp in Greenwich this Summer.

Some interesting food for thought!!!

In a recent study by
Michael J. Mauboussin where he conducts a statistical breakdown of data from the 2011 Division 1 College season, he found the following information to be true:

"No discussion of shooting percentage is complete without discussion of the impact of Canadian players. In 2011, Canadians represented less than 5 percent of Division I players yet scored in excess of 10 percent of the goals. Further, they did so with extraordinary efficiency. The attackmen scored on 39.8 percent of their shots (over three standard deviations above average) and the midfielders scored at a 31.4 percent rate (almost one standard deviation above average) for a combined rate of 37.1 percent.

The proficiency of the Canadians strongly suggests that American youth coaches should look to adopt some of the Canadian training methods by practicing in tighter spaces and practicing shooting on much smaller targets. Less focus on velocity and more focus on efficiency would likely serve youth players well. "

What is so evident about this information is that these Canadian players are all exposed to the game of BOX LACROSSE!!!  Be a part of the ONLY Box Lacrosse Camp in the Tri-State Area!!!

WHITTEN LACROSSE, INC. is proud to announce that it is providing the ONLY Box Lacrosse Camp of it's kind anywhere in the Fairfield and Westchester County area this summer.

This camp will be like no other "indoor" lacrosse experience that players have been exposed to in their lacrosse career.  This is NOT a smaller field in a 7 vs. 7 format.  This NOT full sized goals. This is NOT regular goalie equipment.  Players DO NOT use long poles.

THIS IS BOX LACROSSE!!!

Our camp will provide players with an unparalleled exposure to a greater number of touches during camp sessions.  The box experience allows for greater player development as the environment confines the playing area, which demands that players have a greater knowledge of the game and superb stick handling skills to see success.

US INDOOR LACROSSE NATIONAL TEAM HEAD COACH, TOM RYAN, WILL LEAD THE 3RD WEEK OF CAMP FOR HIGH SCHOOLERS!!!

http://usindoorlacrosse.org/

Games will be played each day with players having to cover the entire field, offense and defense, regardless of “field” position.

There is no other experience in lacrosse that will allow for greater player development in such a short amount of time.
